poor morale

I have attached some images of a battle and the info boxes. Can someone explain why the Romans seem to lose morale so easily. As veterans I would expect them to feel quite pleased with themselves inflicting such casualties and throwing back the enemy.

Thanks

PS see following message for other image of info box

And Quintis info boxes showing his poor morale despite doing well in combat. Why do the Romans seem to lose morale so easily?

Thanks.

Morale is based on a few factors including:
1) Death around your unit
2) Death to your unit
3) Training status of your unit

In these particular cases, it's hard to tell why there is such a morale loss other than to say the dice might be unlucky. There is nothing in particular for the Romans to lose moral higher than the enemy.
