"Compressed Folders Error"
Posted: Fri Sep 28, 2007 6:34 pm
Greetings, All.
I would appreciate advice/help. I have purchased Guns of August. I have downloaded and installed again via purchased CD. The game seems to run fine. I cannot, however, successfully download/use the 1.1 patch.
I have tried several times, both via my own dial-up conncetion and through another high-speed link. In each case, after getting "Download Complete," I receive the message:
"Compressed (Zipped) Folders Error: The compressed (zipped) folder is invalid or corrupted."
"Corrupted" I assume would mean in transmission, which seems unlikely because of different connections? So what can "invalid" mean and how can I fix it so I can access the improved version?
I own WitP and have updated that sim several times over the years without a problem. Does the problem have to do with where the updated file should go? For WitP, I never had to make a choice; it did so automatically. If that's not it, any other advice from the group would be welcome.
I am a forty-year wargamer, but still pretty hopeless re the computer...[&:] appliance operator! So any help should be in plain language and step-by step, please.. thanks in advance... I would be happy to communicate by e-mail to avoid boring the forum members. I can't wait to begin simming the Great War possibilities!
Cheers.
