Not sure if this is fixed or not but in my version of CHS 2.08 it isn't, not sure if this affects RHS too, but several BB, BC, CA & CL upgrades have their capacities set to 0 where they have search planes assigned on board. Didn't check IJN nor US cruisers but went through FAA, RAN & Dutch - Royal Sovereign, Australia, Kent, Norfolk, London, Exeter, Leander, E class, Fiji & Perth classes all had this problem. All of the above had a capacity going from 2 or 3 to 0 somewhere in it's upgrade paths some had it go from 2 to 0 to 1 to 0 over it's total path, Perth had 2-7-0 in it's path.

Well, all RN surface ships put their planes ashore during the latter part of the war. Too much of a fire risk, and their mission had become redundant.

Perth is a major bug. No evidence from Raven's book suggest this class could take 7 seaplanes in any phase of their career.

"Major bug" is not correct. It's a data entry typo. It's not like the US floatplane detachment that was meant to have 4 aircraft, but entered the game with 44.

As Terminus mentioned, the aircraft were removed later in the war.
The capacity of 7 for Perth is a typo, and it needs to be fixed.
Thanks,
Andrew

So was this setting to 0 correct to simulate being put ashore? As it is now the air unit when the upgrade that has capacity set to 0 happens the planes over time will then go into damaged state since there is no capacity they will not repair but unit will still be on ship.

Also due to AA upgrades and stability problems. This was not just Australian naval units but also many Royal Navy ans USN ones also. Remember you can always choose not to upgrade a ship.
