Returned planes at CV sunk :

Carrier unusable, no alternative found.

I suppose that it's impossible to divert some planes at another valid CV or airbase...[:-] right ?

Incoming planes will attempt to find and land at an alternate base of ops that is close enough. Once landed, the plane will be used as reserves for any squadrons of the same plane type, or else simply stowed for the rest of the scenario.
