Thanks to all the positive feedback, decided to give it a go. Downloading as I type. I can get a few rounds in to learn the system before the Patch 3 comes out:)

Hopefully I don't get destroyed too much:(

I do not think you willa be disappointed. It's a great game and a great game system.

FWIW, I don't generally like "single scenario" games...>I like a campaign that progresses my troops and my ability from battle to battle (a bit like the CM stuff)...but this is a spectacular game nonetheless.

The game does allow for you to remove yourself alot from the "micro-management" of your units...the key is to intervene when you want to...NOT necessarily when you NEED to...if you leave it until when you NEED to, you may feel like you're watching a game play your battles....if you intervene when you WANT to, then you won't feel that way.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy.

FYI, I have just reinstalled Airborne Assault...the first in the series. Not because the system has got worse (far from it) but because I want to replay that theatre.

COTA is still installed on my drive and is for sure a game I would not sell.

Welcome slybelle, glad to hear you descided to give CotA a try. If you have any questions there are a lot of guys who can help on this forum.

Arjuna and the Beta team are progressing every day to get patch #3 out but the complexities of the AI architecture (which is truly amazing) leaves little room for errors, and Arjuna is a painfully dedicated perfectionist. The basis of the patch is to provide a more aggressive and intelligent AI attacker and defender for CotA, which can then be incorporated into the BFTB engine.

Anyway, enjoy and good luck with the system (and say goodby to the golden age of hexes and turns[:D])
