using this game for a book

I am writing an alternate history of world war II novel, and am thinking about buying this game to help me. I know very little about gaming, but am planning to get a new PC soon that will handlee most games.
In my scenario, Germany doesn't invade Russia. I may have Russia join with Germany. Germany turns most of its troops to the evacuation at Dunkirk, which is a bloodbath. My main premise is a smarter, and even more dangerous Hitler. He seizes power in Germany earlier, and he doesn't invade Poland till December 7, 1941. More time to prepare. Instead of sending the Jews to death camps, he uses them as factory slaves, thus freeing up more Germans to fight the war.
How much of this scenario could I play with World at War?
