The manual and missing unit data?

Just curious as to why the manual doesn't include a summary of all the units and their statistics? Would it be possible to get all the detail information shown in the subformation details window (ie covered by section 13.7) exported into excel?

The manual has a subset of this information in section 16, but it would be _real_ nice to know the relative strengths and weaknesses of all units and their abilities. Section 16 lacks any serious details...

For example, exactly what is the base hide strength for a submarine?

Also, while the manual looks very nice, its useability is rather low as a lot of detail is lacking. As well as a lot of typos (just how do you spell "damage"? :-). The entrenchment table has its headers in the wrong columns. Swamp appears as a title in the text but not in the tree... and so on.

Some of the links in the tree view are wrong (13.3 is at the same level as 13.0, and has 13.4 and on as child nodes of it for example).

An example of lacking detail is the entire section 5.2. One sentence description for each of the statistics pages??

The tutorial in the manual comes across as a joke... at least add reference to the training scenarios!

The game itself looks great (so far), but the manual really doesn't help much at all.

If matrix needs an independent proofreader for future manuals (or revisions to this one!), I'll gladly help out. [;)]

Thanks for the comments, all I can say is that we are constantly trying to improve our manual work and we'll take these into account.

There is one way to get the information that you want. While you are in the production area of the game, you will notice that when they are asking you to choose, there is a question mark. If you click on the question mark it will tell you everything, and I do mean everything, you ever wanted to know about that unit's statistics.

The only drawback on that is that it only works on units that you are currenty eligible to produce. A good way around that it to set reseach cost real low on a scenario you are playing by yourself just so you can hurry up and get through the different unit types.

Also remember, the computer has a wonderful called screenshot (control + printscreen). Do that to any page you want to view the information and paste onto a microsoft word document. Save it and it is yours for life.
