I've seen this problem here on forum, but so far no solutions. So, after I "buy" units for any particular mission, and click "Start", i get crash to desktop after 1 sec. of loading screen.

I will attach my log files.

Pls guys, can anyone help with this problem? I'm trying to give this game a chance, but so far, I can't even open any mission.

Hi Calidor,

Sorry to hear about the issue you're having. Could you paste the log file text into a post? I don't seem to be able to download it.

First, are you using the latest updated version?

Second, have you tried changing your regional settings to US English to see if that changes anything?

Finally, have you checked for this:

5. Some players have experienced a crash related to a font problem caused by an older game. This bug seemed to be caused by players that have installed an old build of Korsun Pocket and uninstalled it -- leaving the Arial font incorrectly set on your system. There are 2 ways to fix this:

1) From the control panel, select Fonts. Find the "Arial" font and delete it. Reboot your system, and it should be restored.
2) Optionally, after deleting the font, you can download a copy of ARIAL.TTF from the Internet (or from a local copy of Windows). Within the Fonts control panel (see above), select "Install New Fonts...". Browse for the ARIAL.TTF file and install it. Re-run the game, and it should now work correctly.

6. Some players are experiencing a crash because their video cards are not DirectX 9-compatible as required by the game. Panzer Command requires hardware texture and lighting support. Some integrated video chipsets do not support these features. All recent dedicated video cards have this support and upgrading is less than a $50 proposition in most cases if you find your integrated chipset is not DirectX 9-compatible.

Also, please confirm that you allowed the .NET and Managed DirectX installations to complete fully before running the game.

Regards,

- Erik

Thnx for suggestions, I'll try them a bit later tonight.

In the meantime, here's the game log. Gotta mention, I work in IT sector, so i'm not quite a noob when it comes to PCs. I've changed few VGA drivers, from official ATI Catalyst 7.8-7.10, to latest Omega modded Catalysts, but to no avail. Even before I installed PCOWS, I've had newest directx & .NET package, since I regularly update my windows with critical & optional MS patches & fixes. Regardless, I always accept the option to install them from PCOWS installation.

My VGA card is ATI Radeon x1950 GT, and I've had no problem with playing other Directx games (among others, new & very GPU power hungry, like Bioshock or Neverwinter Nights 2).
I've gotta mention (hopefully this won't make someone in Matrix Games angry :) ), I've installed PCOWS on other PC, just to see if it's a problem with my download, and there it works flawlessly. A bit slow, though, and this PC is in my office, so not really an ideal wargaming environment. I've deleted it afterwards.

This log is form the first running of the game, right after clean installation & patching to the latest version, so all options are set very low.

Hi Calidor,

I'm sorry I lost track of this one, please feel free to PM or e-mail me if you don't see a response within 24-48 hours. Is there any more news on your PCOWS installation or do you still need help getting it running?

Regards,

- Erik
