Hello El Cid

Just installed RHS and ran the first turn to see the attack on Pearl Harbour. The air animation worked fine. Surface animation did not. It showed a blank ocean for any surface to surface or air to surface combat. What did I forget to install. I posted this on general forum but no repairable answers. Hope you can help.

Obviously I am not Cid, but it sounds like you failed to install the ship sides to the art folder.
You may have even forgotten to unzip the ship art into the art folder?
Do you have your animations set "on" for this routine?

I think you somehow have no ship art in the right places. And there are several sub folders in the art folder for ships.
But they should exist - even with the wrong art - so I am confused by what is happening here. Did you start from a stock install?

Started from stock install and placed the four ship art files in their proper folders. I have animations on but only the surface ships animations do not work. When looking at ships I see the profile, so the art is there but not for animations. Strange!!

I like to start clean, and test at each stage.
Install stock - and RUN it - see if it works.
Then install over the top of that - and test. Maps, planes, ships art wise should just be simple copies.
In this case - sounds like there is a problem in the installed copy of the game engine itself.

Well I played a stock game with this and no problem. Problem started with RHS. Well I am going to delete and reinstall see if that works.

That is my recommendation. I have yet to fail to get RHS to work on any machine.

ok reinstalled and for some reason it works now. I tell you make it simple and I will still be able to screw it up.[:D][:D][:D]
On another note the Hurricane IIc has the wrong art profile; looks like a flyingboat.

That either means your art is wrong - or I have the wrong pointer. Will check after work.

I rechecked the site and there is only one air set for the allies listed and that is RHS vx.757 STD-EOS. I have found many of the plane sides are wrong. Of course if this is the wrong file to be using then I would ask where am I to get the right one. BTW love what you have done with the game.

And I have checked the art at source - that is my art - the coordinator level. It is correct. So it may be what we are posting on the site isn't right? Contact Mifune - RHS site manager - and he can both send you art and correct what is there. But the good news (for me) is I don't have to fix the files for everyone - the pointers are right. All we have to do is get the art to the users.

RHS vx.758 STD-EOS air panels 28-07 have been uploaded to the RHS web site.
