Demo Question

Been playing around with the demo and I notice that when I get a " Defend The Carrier " mission the Carrier is surrounded by ground flak and SAM`s and SAM squads ? Seems a bit odd.

Are there any pure A to A Scenarios ?

Even on the most easy level it seem very tough to take out any targets without losses from overwhelming Flak & SAM`s as well as fighters, which seems to happen due to the Fast Hornet-Slow Hornet system, seems like the enemy are getting 2 shots for each or yours on each phase.

I want to like the Game , but I`m not there yet.

Thanks

How many of those have you had? In my experience, most Defend the Carrier missions don't have any ground flak, but in some cases the interception is assumed to happen farther out over land and then they show up.

I'd say 75% of the defend carrier missions I've done were pure air to air and there are also air intercept missions.

This is a matter of practice, really. I also got my butt kicked my first few tries, but now (when playing on the normal level) I can get through a campaign with virtually no losses while kicking butt. There's some advice here on these forums with regard to tactics, but I think as you play the scenarios more you'll find out what works best as well.

The ? Help screens really do help and give some useful tips to play well early on. It is just practice really. Even now, I'd say i'm not that great at the game, so I can only say that careful planning and playing to the pilots strengths works well.
