a question on gameplay

Hi, I am very interested in Airborne Assault engine, and will buy either this title or BftB before Xmas. I read too much on this game but have some quesiton, about the details of gameplay:

In CotA -or in any other hairborne assault game- does units 'leave behind' some of their equipments while routing, or retreating? Or do they always have the determinacy to not to leave any mortars behind?

If they do not leave anyhthing while retreating/routing, and if the only way of reducing their equipments is actually destroying them, will it be different in BftB?

and secondly, if they actually leave behind something, can enemy units utilise these equipments? or if enemy supply base is surrendered, does it have a significant advantage?

thanks...

I believe this issue was directly raised for COTA. If I recall correctly units which "rout" (meaning panic) and not an orderly retreat under fire, do lose equipment. However, there are no provisions in the game for capture or seizing enemy equipment.

I also recall that the seizing of fuel dumps was raised with regards to BFTB, but I cannot recall the final disposition of that matter.

Large units like airborne supply bases will loose all the supplies they cant carry when they have to move, even if its a ordered redeployment. Given the importance of supplies in this game its a key aspect to always think about.
