Some of the Supply Center Hexes (marked with blue S)seem not to be supply centers; such as San Francisco, Los Angles, Tacoma etc. as they don't have the current supplies/turn supplies indicated. New Orleans does have the daily supply but not the blue S.

Please explain.

When we began, they were considered map edge supply sources as such. And San Diego (which you missed) remains such. But eventually we learned how to make supplies flow to them without being "free supplies" - and except for a trainload into Vancouver BC per day - now coastal cities either make supplies (at HI or resource centers) which are subject to enemy damage or capture - or attract them via rail lines. They remain de facto major sources of supply - on a vastly greater scale than 400 points per day - so we saw no need to remove the symbols. Typical supply generation in these cities is in tens of thousands; otherwise it is thousands. Only peculiar game conditions might change that: cut off the city rail access to other points; don't have enough resources or oil for HI to work; get damaged by enemy action. Failing such things, these remain significant supply sources - where you can always load at least one ship - which is what the symbol means.
