Is it possible for players to get hurt during spring training?
Can a player suffer a career ending injury, forcing them to retire?

1) Injuries in Spring Training: I have never seen this happen, as I believe the games are simmed in a different manner. I still cannot say 100% that they would not. Between all the associations I have managed and the 23 seasons therein, I have never seen a spring training injury.
2) Career Ending Injuries: Yes... sorta. I know they used to happen in the past (PSB2005) but I have yet to see one recently (in PSB2007). I do not know if they were removed entirely or they just so rare, one hasn't come up.
Wow. I just realized that in both of those answers, I really didn't answer anything!

Spring training: this plays a big part in solidifying AI decisions on rosters/lineups/rotations. Human-originated trades can't be negotiated again until spring training is concluded.
Haven't seen injuries or retirements in Spring Training.

Yes, career ending injuries do still happen. I've had a couple of them in my league (thankfully none to any of my players)

evil,
Roughly, how long has your league gone? I'm trying to gauge roughly how often they occur.

I played a league with real-players starting in 1984 ending in 2006; and I only experience 1 career ending injury: Randy Johnson somewhere in the mid-nineties.
