Plz Explain Rule 13.6.5 and 13.6.6

I was reading over the editor section of the manual and could not make sense of the Item Type/Game Slots Needed or Item Type/Regime Slots Needed (13.6.5/13.6.6)

The rules state "You need to have specified game/regime slots at a value higher than or equal to the value specified in order to be able to produce this itemtype. Up to 5 game/regime slots can be specified."

I just am not getting what this is used for.

I guess I need 5 brain slots available to comprehend![:D]

BTW, great game, love the flexibility. Another jewel in the crown for a very selective game buyer.

Also, I am beginning a Stalingrad scenario soon and thats why I am asking.

A scenario designer might wish to make productionability of certain stuff conditional upon certain triggers, he can use regimevars or gamevars for that.
