Tutorial?

Sorry, the "tutorial" designed to be played with the printed manual in hand, doesn't match up (except for the map). The window showing on page 87 I can't get to show up. Obviously not pushing some button??? Any clues on how this works.
Guess I can skip the tutorial and dive right in somewhere else.

I would skip the tutorial and just start the torturial map and start with alot of mouseing over stuff to read the help text.
Then read the manual from cover to cover and go along. The game is quite intuitive when you get the hang of it. Supply and combat modifiers can be a bit tricky but you can save that for later.

The big thing the tutorial taught me was how to create new HQ's and units and how to transfer subformations between them. If you can understand how to do that from the manual you should be good. The rest of it is pretty intuitive, at least to get you started playing the game. After that you can read the manual as you play to catch up on what's going on.
Having said that, I don't remember having any trouble getting the tutorial scenario to match what I was reading in the manual. I'm not sure what's going wrong for you, sorry.

More "intuitive" the 2nd or 3rd time through. The "manual" was just not quite as clear, IMHO, as it could of been, but I did get the tut to work. I probably need to do it a couple of more times just to get a feel for it.[;)]

Rik81,
I believe this worked fine for me. After clicking on the city, then on the factory (the one without the "H", on the next screen you need to first click on one of the gray boxes labeled empty prod slot. Then the production choice windows should pop up.
If you need pics, let me know.
Also, I found tutorial (and the training missions) , handy way to get used to the interface. Was able to click around a few things.

"Ships passing in the night ..." Yeah, the key part I was missing was clicking on one of those "empty" slots first. Thanks for your reply.
