I see no difference in movement factor or radius when changing stance from March to Rest, Defend or Attack. Am I missing something. Seems I can move just as far in attack as in march mode. Why would I change to march ??

Anyone ??

I asked a question regarding stances in For Liberty, but more about how stances affect tactical battles. But maybe the thread will interest you.

Wondered that too as manual implies differently. Seems the difference only shows itself if a battle occurs?

In FL. if you leave your guys in a march stance they seem to acquire more movement points on the next turn. Rest stance seems to be good for rediness and using less suplies. If you leave them in rest or march they will get pounded if attacked, happens when you forget to switch stances if your done. You need as many movement points as you can espicially if outnumbered in tac. battles. So maybe I shouldnt comment with NiI, but this is what I found in FL.

Changing stances will not give more movement points for the current turn. At the start of each turn movement points are determined based on your stance. BTW, changing stance does cost MPs - changing to rest and retreat costs only 1 MP, the others more.
Stances are described in the manual and the linked thread above is also good reading.
