So I started planning a pbem game of RHSCVO 7.865. And then RHSCVO 7.87 comes out. Do I have to start from scratch or can I continue with the new downloaded version?
Your choice. 7.787 is a renamed 7.7866 - that is it is one upgrade from 7.7865. There are significant differences - but they are not that big a deal.
The biggest perhaps is the presence of the Ju-88 in two flavors (dive bomber and night fighter) on the Axis side.
Another is the full implementation of the Japanese amphibs - what are usually called "Japanese LSTs" - although here they are called LSMs. The earlier ones also got more correct upgrades - and the ability to carry kaiten.
Vast amounts of the differences are minor technical ones - some we are not even sure matter - but Matrix has advised taking out empty lines in ship records - so we have begun that sort of thing. And eratta reported or discovered by tests or while editing are also folded in.
In the end it is up to you. 7.7865 works fine.
