Based upon the live chat with Dan it seemed to me that a whole host of visual improvements are at least being considered, with a few already in the works. What was a little less clear was how many of the possible ones were destined for a future expansion vs. the current iteration.

But I would say, at the very least, it sounds like we will get backgrounds and a few other improvements at a minimum that should hopefully tone down the level of displeasure from those with graphical complaints.

Those things would then begin to open the doors for a mod community to step in and futher enhance the game. But as it would stand now I don't think the game is all the modable thus we must wait patiently for the devs.

The game is a nice little gem. I look forward to when it will also sparkle like one..

Yes, the next version will have visual improvements, including combat screen backgrounds and overall improved appearance, and added scenarios and replayability features.
