How do I copy a map from a scenario so that I can use it and edit it for another scenario?

I see 2 basic options -

- Take a map you like, erase the units and the events and start from here.  Advantage of this approach is that you have an exact copy of the map.

- Take a map you like, run the game with 'screenshots' enabled.  You now have a picture of the map that you can use in the overlay.  The advantage here is you can re-size the map.

screen shots loses me. Do I manually take a picture of all sections of the map or is there a means to get a single screen shot of the map?

Then we have overlay, I have zero idea how to do that.

And I still have no clue how to do events or cards. There are no instructions to follow at all, no list of needed or accepted command lines and other requirements.

If you toggle on screenshots in the settings page (or in the settings on the first page of the scenario), then screenshots will automatically be taken at the end of the turns. These aren't literally screen shots, they're actually "map -shots" . They get stroed in the Screenshots directory under the bin directory. They worked great for getting map image suitable for planning.

I would look at the 'event code' sticky thread.  Also, you may want to look at some of the events in one of the simplier scenarios (like ACW).  When I am done with my current scenario, I will post some more design tips.  Is there a specific thing you would like to do?  I can give you pointers and that is also a good way to get started.
