I have just found out that one of the differences in HCE to ANW is the ability to drop individual sono bouys. If you are a control freak and like prosecuting your own targets your own way it is ANW all the way. Having said that i am still having a ball with HCE. I remember it on the old 5 inch floppy disks and it has not lost any of it's charm[:)]

You certainly can drop individual sonobuoys in HCE. You do so by tapping the "." (period) key.

Thanks CV32,
I guess I better learn the hotkeys on this version.
Can you distinguish between active and passive?

Sorry to say but you can´t select the type of buoy.
And when a loadout contains more than 1 type the "." will drop one of each type at the same time.

In regards to sonar and detecting subs, why is there only a surface search option with the Osprey when it's supposed to have dipping sonar. In the previous version, you could select sonar when it was hovering. Just curious!

I assume you're referring to the (fictional) SV-22 version of the Osprey. It still has the AQS-13 dipping sonar. You need to loiter at Vlow altitude to use it.
