How do I change a graphic? I click on the images in the screenshot below but nothing happens.

What am I suppose to be doing?

Thanks!

You may have to disconnect the masterfile first. Under the setting button lower right. Select masterfile then don't choose a new one in the dialog box, click cancel.

Excellent! I skipped right to the graphics tutorial so I must have missed that from an earlier one??

Well now I can select a graphic but I get the attached error. Aside from that do they need to be a certain size or will it shrink/expand them as needed?

Do you know a pixel size that works so I can eliminate that?

It's been mentioned here in one of the threads, - you might look in the modding thread.

Nah I looked at one of the custom scenarios... Looks like 120 x 86 and 37 x 37. I still get that same error.

I'm gonna try it on my other computer and see...

Ok this same error happens on my other Vista PC as well installed into the default location.

Anyone have any idea how to address this error? "File does not exist. Operation ordered is canceled due to this"

I've created units w/pics without any problem.. The "symbol" (first button) are 38*38, the unit pictures are 260*194, not 120*86. But it accepts selecting whatever image size without errors - they seem to be shrinked, dunno if it works in game after that though.
You manage to get to the file selection window, select a file, hit Ok, and get a "file not found" message ? Really weird...

Edit : Veldor, I've just read about your "invisible files" Vista problem in the support forum- and now I'm suspecting this file not found problem is the same issue !!

I got the sizes I referenced from the Tolkien scenario folder so apparantly different sizes should also work. And yeah I get the file selection window, pick the file out of C:\ATImages etc. then I get the error message.

Incorrect sir, if you read back this thread you'll see I already installed the game into the default path on another Vista machine with the same end error. If someone running Vista could comment if it works we can eliminate Vista itself, but its not an install path issue.

Hi Veldor,

Sorry to hear you have problems on multiple fronts.

the graphics file must be located within the graphics directory or a subdirectory of it.

if it is and you are getting this error it is very odd. since you can select files to load from the filebrowser window correctly.

let me know please where you try to load the graphics from.

kind regards,
Vic

No I made a whole subdirectory of files elsewhere with a graphics program and just wanted to test them. Since the program let me browse outside of its own directory I falsely assumed that it wouldn't care where the files were. The error message was a bit mis-leading :)

Once I put the files in a subdirectory under Graphics it worked fine.

While your here though can you confirm the maximum resolution I can use for the small graphic and the large graphic?

Thanks!

The large graphic is scaled up to the size the game uses (either down or up).

The small counter graphic is not scaled and is the same size as the counter sprite (you can find the base counter sprite in the systemgraphics dir)
