Flashing White with VISTA

Was the 1.02 patch supposed to fix the flashing white background in Vista? It is still happening to me, though is no big deal, since I turned off the desktop thingie in the compatibility tab...

Not that I am aware of, no. I believe the compatibility tab is the only way around it. Any other Vista users should know better though?

Whiteowl, Jason;
Possible quick fix for this until patch comes out.
1. right click desktop
2. select personalize
3. choose themes
4. under the theme drop down box choose "windows classic"
5. click apply
6. wait till it switches then get in game.
I know it's annoying to have to do this but it has worked for all three (EF WF RS)for me. Prior to trying this the flashing was too distracting to play.
I know in xp doing this saves video memory, don't know about this confounded vista box tho! I tried to go back to xp but Microsoft refuses to give me a replacement activation key for the genuine XP full install I bought when xp came out. It's not my fault I had to do so many format and recover(s) over the years that the key got used up[X(].

P.S.: Had to download the winhlp program from microsoft to view Helpfiles in old format. Just wanted to mention it....

Hey! That worked!!![&o] One question: Can I keep using Windows classic without affecting anything on my pc (instead of switching back and forth)? Pardon my naivete but I am still learning this Vista stuff.

Yes, you should be able to use it without it affecting anything on your PC.

Control Panel -> Appearance and Personalization -> Adjust Screen resolution -> Colours
Set to Medium (16-bit) instead of High (32-bit)
