graphic question

I thought I would try to make some generic Red Force & Blue Force insignias for AT. I opened the National ID German. png file in MS Paint & altered it then attempted to assign the insignia to one regime's units as per Vic's SSC 101 & this is the result. I was very careful not to do anything but just change the insignia as it came straight from the National folder & then renamed it National ID Blue.png & put it into the National folder.

Any suggestions, please?

I would really like to create a bank of generic, simple-color insignias & flags for use in AT.

Don't use Paint, it doesn't support png format, it is better to use The Gimp, Paint.NET or Photofiltre.

Either what Jmass says or use pink (255,0,255) as a background. That color is made transparent too.

If you want to use Paintshop Pro I found this very helpful tutorial:

I used what I read here to make the unit graphics I posted.

Thanks for the link, the tutorial and the graphics pack (patterns, etc.) can be useful also for The Gimp.
