Heavy and stupid losses...

I just started a Pbem against a friend and in turn five something horrible happened. I have about 7000 points to build with, and everything counts. When I started up my latest turn I was shocked to see that I during the last turn only managed to produce 2 bazookas and some supplies.

I first thought it was some kind of terrible bug, but I am afraid that it is a real feature. My opponent managed to cut off my HQ from my main towns with one small tank unit. This made my towns somehow scrap what they had built, giving me a very bad start.

Why on earth cant the factories hold on to the tanks they just have built and wait for the next transport out, instead of scrapping them, dumping them in the sea, or what ever they now have done. [:@][:@][:@]

I need real luck to be able to get ahead now with my now under supplied puny force...

The factories should be able to hold onto the tanks in those circumstances, I think! As far as I know it's treated in the same way (and is essentially the same) as a town that's out of supply range from the HQ. Once you re-establish supply the backlog should appear at the HQ.

This is my understanding anyway. I could be wrong.

As far as i know the only case a city is throwing the production away instead of storing it is if there is no
HQ attached.
In case the city is "only" cutted off from HQ it will store the production.

When you can´t reconnect the HQ you can create a own in that city and attach the production to.
Then you can try to break the pocket from outside.

Btw, what your opponent did with you is a normal and very common strategy [;)]

Are you sure your town wasn't damaged by Art or Air?

It was cut off and didnt store the production. There where a HQ attatched, and no enemy unit air or ground where anywhere near the town. I greated an elastic defence and planned to let his first unit (2x light tanks) through and then cut it off. However, this feature completely screwed up my force build up.

production is only lost when the HQ set for delvery is destroyed.

In you case the production will be stored as Lft production and should be added to the delivery of next turn (if connection is re-established to the HQ).
