after the battle you get points to upgrade and fix damage equipment. If you dont use all your points do they carry over to the next battle or are they lost. Could not seem to find the answer to this one in the manual.

Depends on the campaign: In the Long Campaign (the random WWII one), unused Repair Points are accumulated. In user-generated campaigns (such as Das Reich or Long, Long Road to Victory), however, unused Repair Points are lost between battles.
