Have you tried running manually?  The program should generate it's on INI file in the absence of one.  Try that and then try using the launcher.

I'm no expert but you may need to run the H3 Configuration tool first. Have you checked for the presence of that file? H3 is very finiky when it comes to resolution mode.

Think I got it: have to start ANW 3.8 with admin rights - hard to believe, but now those error messages are all gone! It is uncomfortable though since I have to verify each time Vista´s request if I really want things to go this way. But it works. Obviously not an ANW issue, but an OS one.

Maybe interesting for AGSI for 3.9: Vista users have to use admin rights, at least in 3.8 - not in 3.7.

Does it ask you permission every time you want to launch an aircraft? ,

I am still waiting on Vista, XP was such a great improvement over 98/Me that I just cant let it go, plus no reason for the $100 price as well......

I just love the apple commercials when the "bodyguard" is standing next to the PC guy, its funny. I have fiddled with Vista and someday I might, but for now it was to annoying for me.....

I have vista business edition, UAC is on, and do not have to set admin rights. Are you sure you didn't install into Program Files?

UAC - User Access Control, a new feature in Vista that requires admin approval when users perform certain tasks deemed by Vista to require admin rights, such as adding new users, and yes, modifying the program files directory. You should leave it on, as it adds security to your install, pretty much like not logging in as root in linux, and using sudo for everything that needs root permissions, but if you're not a linux guy, just ignore this last statement . At any rate, you should uninstall harpoon, then reinstall into a different directory, e.g. the default Matrix Games directory. This will then not be "protected" by UAC and you will not require admin privileges anymore.
