Please help me to...

... understand how this procedure works. OK. playing v1.806, Allies v AI, 12/24/43. (I cheated, I went back 7 days.) This has to do with understanding city bombing attack results.
On 12/23, I attacked Nagasaki with about 90 B-24 types, from Kadena & Naha. Results reported were 27 HI hits.
Before the attack, Nagasaki HI showed 600(0). After the attack, on 12/24, Nagasaki HI showed 503(97). Fine-I know I did damage-but what? Does 97 indicate the % of HI still operable, or what? Thanks in advance.

It depends where you are getting your information from... if accurate, the 503(97) means that 97 HI out of 600 are damaged, and 503 are still ok.
The info you get when you go to the city attack screen is accurate - stuff from "rollover" (with the cursor) is not.

I got the HI 600(0) on 12/23 by placing the cursor on the city. The next day, doing the same thing, I got the 503(97). Am I correct? Thanks, HB.

Placing the cursor on the city using the map is rarely completely accurate.
For City Attack Screen:
go to the bomber unit... go to "City Attack" under orders. Click on that and it will bring up a list of cities you can attack, and the targets which are there (i.e. manpower, resources, oil, heavy industry, etc.) This info is accurate.
Beware that the listing may be REVERSED from what you see elsewhere (i.e. - it may read (97)503 instead of 503(97). Don't ask why... [8|]

Rtrapasso-Second reply(five minutes later). On 12/24, I went to schedule Nagasaki attack again for 30th BG. When I hit city attack, the following showed: HI (96)x504.
I'm not sure what this means. Does it mean 96 HI are damaged & 504(out of original 600) are not?
As a further question, how does one destroy HI? By fire storm, atomic attack, or what? In other words, how do I score Victory points by attacking HI?

Correct: this would indicate 96 damaged, 504 not damaged.
You can destroy industry by firestorm (good luck!!) or a-bombs, or i think by lots and lots of bombing.
You get 2 victory points for damaging 1 industry - you get 20 for destroying one industry.
