And we are off trying a faster paced game and using the Quick Combat resolution to see if that helps! Here are the bid results:

Never the less, Russia has a few corps guarding the Turkish border.

It looks to us Turks, like you are preparing to invade. NOT Guarding your border.

I think what Lord Wolsey was saying. If you don't guard the border, Imperial Russian troops will find a new Southern vacation spot for the Czar. Old Russian saying " While the Turks attentions are southern, so are ours"

Yes, that's the gist of it. I trust my neighbors, because I lock my back door.
Everyone is in the game to get PPs and if Sweden and other pursuits go sour for Russia, well, then the propaganda machine starts pumping out stories about the Turks. The Turks are sending spies across the border. They eat all the red M&Ms and leave the rest in the bowl. They're stealing our women. They use kittens for target practice. Then Russian troops will be pouring into Turkey to defend their borders.

Russian troops are looking for nicer weather during the cold winter of 1805. Just some manuvering drills going on. The Sultan has nothing to worry about from a docile Russia.

The War will commence soon as I held up the diplomacy phase as the Turkey player on loading all the players commin files. We Turks are not used to computers. Just women, camels, and blowing sand.

Looks like there's no DOW with Turkey and Russia, but England picked up Russia, Prussia, Austria, and Spain as Allies.

Turkey can go back to subjecting North Africa to its hordes of barbarians, now that it is official that Russia has no interest in Turkey.

We don't trust the Bear; official interest only means until Russia declares war on Turkey. At that point "
no interest" becomes an unofficial policy not support by the Czar. Of which the true policy of the Czar, is war against Turkey.

Murat look across the Thames and pondered the garrisons awaiting his assault. Darkness has fallen and bells rang. Voices were raised in song. Not so long a go on a similar night General Washington must have mused thusly, wondering if the attack should be launched on the morrow upon the remnants of the celebrations. Perhaps not this time thought Murat, not this holiday. Maybe on the 1st.
"Order the men to stand down, we rest for a few days. Give them my regards on this joyous Noel."

Turkey has almost taken the pyramids. I expect a post card soon. No action on the Russian Border, Ivan seems content to thumb their noses for now.

There seems to have been a naval skirmish in the English channel. The small French contingent was routed by the English, but due to the nature of PBEM, the rest of us only know who won, but not by how much. The French have managed to park a corp at the mouth of the Thames. An expedition to get some fish and chips, a diversion, or something else?
