Yeah same here. I did a google on Stream Read Error and it appears that error has something to do with a database being messed up. So I figured my initialinstallation was fubared or I somehow messed it up. FIgured unstalling and reinstalling couldn't hurt.
Now to see if I can figure out how to play the game.

If you've never played then I recommend you read the manual 2-3 times

If you have played before then still read the manul 2-3 times LOL!
My original EiA manual looks like an actual Dead Sea scroll LOL! Good thing we got a PDF version.

Actually, the Board game went like this.
Read the manual 2-3 times. Play game and argue about the rules for hours, while looking them up. Read the manual again before the next week when your group plays the next turn. Argue more about the rules for a few hours while looking up the rules. Read the rules 2-3 times till the group can meet again, when you argue about the rules all night again, while looking up the rules for clarification. Now, continue this process for the entire year that the game takes to play with 7 live players.
Funny thing is, even with all of this, this game is still one of the greatest games you will ever play.

I pulled my own of my storage closet and dead sea scrolls is close. Its crinkley, yellowing a tad and feels like some lost codex from the Napoleonic wars. [X(]

I have a new game in a worn and taped box, missing the Fr nation sheet but with a photo copy of both sides, chits still need to be snapped out and placed in plastic ziplock bags. It was my back up copy. I have no idea who stole the Fr nation card, but a thousand curses on them[:-]

Have you tried loading the latest CODECS? I believe Erik Rutins mentioned how to do this in another thread?
