I know I will get shot for asking this, but any idea when the patch is coming? I am involved in 4 PBEM games, and would hate to see any of them get halted because of bugs and waiting a long time for a Patch.

you are not alone here, i think our games would be better off, being on hold, for the first patch to be done, so that the brits can properly do their part and the rest who are effected by varies bugs, can have those removed, so to properly fight the others

Well, our Fleet bug has really hurt us, since we have Spain anf France both at war with Britain.  If it was one or the other, that game could have had no problems for a little while at least.

yes it have so hurt our progress, but its possible that it will effect others as well, how can people plan vs England or spain or france fleet wise, if you cant properly defend. Need patch to work.

also i have in the single player vs AI tried to have troop surrender during defeat for no reason, so want these bugs fixed

We've got almost 40 fixes that we testing right now. We're making sure that everything plays together well and when we're happy with that, we'll let you know...

We could help test if you like.  Enough of us out here playing PBEM and Solo, that we should be able to make sure everything is working correctly.  I know I would be more than willing to help test if you need.

Add me to the list of people willing to be a beta tester for the patches (or, the game, for that matter), if desired.

dont worry, we are beta testing game, we are locating bugs, report them, they fix and test those and no, i am not a tester of these new changes, i wish i was

There may be a slight difference in terminology in use here:
 
When I say "beta", I mean "not released yet". So, what we are doing with all these posts is plain old testing. Beta-testing is when they issue a patch they're not quite sure of yet to testers. Once that happend, the user is no longer using released code, so bad things can happen. However, I'm willing to take that risk (after all, I have system restore turned on ).

heh, well once we get first patch, we will still encounter issues and perhaps even new ones, so we are testers nomatter what, i just hope patch is coming very soon, so to have some of the most annouing stuff sorted out, like naval

Had hoped it happend be4 Hollidays, guessing chance pretty low it will happen between xmas and newyear.

We're trying BUT we did hit a few snags so I'm doubling back to fix some more stuff. I've got almost 50 fixes / enhancements / AI improvements in this first patch so I want make sure that we test this thing thoroughly!
 
 

Marshall, is there anyway a few more of us can help test?  Maybe we can find if any other problems are popping up.

Guns of August released about 10 versions of a public beta prior to releasing the v1.2 patch.  EiA could do something similar.  More players means more opprtunities to find and fix stuff.
