Surrender bug, perhaps?

I was playing France. GB did its usual tricks, so I wound up getting an unconditional in March of 1805. I took:

2 fleets
Reparations (all)
1/2 trade

I never received a penny of reparations. I can't verify whether the fleets came off or not, because I couldn't click GB's stacks to see if they were gone. Plus, GB left ALL of its fleets at sea for the entire peace period. Including during economic months.

It almost seems to have gone into civil disorder or something.

Can you post a screen print of your economic summary? If she went broke then were be a pp penalty for going bankrupt but she could also eliminate here debt through this??? The status text should show when bankrupt.

I didn't check that, and I believe that's exactly what happened. It "appeared" as though she were in civil disorder, so I think you are right. I remember that she dropped from the normal zone on the PSD to the instability zone AFTER I got the surrender, so I suspect that is correct.

If so, then she was cleverer than most AI's: It appears she deliberately left her fleets out at sea so she would go bankrupt.

Would love to take credit for that but I suspect that AI dropped the ball on the fleets :-)

Kind of seems "clever by accident".

I use it all the time, personally. :)
