CHS Noob Question

British Withdrawl.
I was to have a BB and two DD withrawl for 2/42.
I recall that they have to be in Adan for CHS, which they were -- but they did not get removed and I was charged PP. First time sitting in the Aden port pool; re-run with a TF at anchor in Aden. No go either way.
Karachi?
Something I am missing?
Thanks.

This must be done manually:
Disband the ships into port (Aden).
Click on port detail screen (where it lists all the ships disbanded into port).
Select an individual ship you wish to disband. You get an individual ship's detail screen.
Small button, bottom center, says "withdraw ship". You will get a small popup box: "Withdraw ship? Y/N". Hit "y" to withdraw.
IIRC, the ship must not have more than 50 (?) sys damage to be able to be withdrawn.
Note: You must withdraw both DD's to avoid the 300 PP penalty. Withdraw only one, and you will still pay the full (DD) penalty.

BTW, in CHS the second city you can withdraw ships from is Bombay.

Melbourne is for RHS. Which is a nice option.

Sounds like there are two hard coded slots in the "bases" database that allow withdrawals then.

Yes, you can also withdraw ships from SF.
The manual, p. 108
To withdraw a ship, the ship must be in Karachi, Bombay, or San Francisco and must have less
than 50 system damage. It must be a British Nationality ship.
Replace Karachi with Aden for CHS.

The information is correct: this is a hard code thing, there are only two slots, and in CHS they are Aden and Bombay. In stock they are Bombay and Karachi - so that is how Bombay got in the picture - it was not changed. RHS generally moves the port around - so it is never Bombay - but it is Melbourne in Level 5, South Atlantic Entry Point in Level 6, and it used to be Recife in level 7 - now I think it is Capetown for technical reasons. This may be where you got the impression about other locations from.

Hi folks,
Another noob CHS question (instead of starting a new thread).
Does anyone know the rationale for the seeming incredibly high supply requirements for Prince Rupert, Canada? IIRC, they start off burning like 30K supply -- which is not apparently justified by a large number of units nor high levels of activity there.

It is a West Coast thing: it is also hard code - beyond our control. ALL ports have a 30,000 PLUS whatever the real requirement is - rule. The rationale is they will suck supplies - so you can load ships there!
