Playing a four sides pbem scenario by only two players

I want to pbem with a friend the Pacific War scenario, which has three sides for the allies. How should the pbem procedure be if I want to play the US, Britain and China (allies) against my friend playing Japan? [&:]
Do I have to play the corresponding turns and save them each time (thus quitting the game) and then send them all to my rival every time, so he can answer back every one in turn? or Do I send him all three pbem at once?
I didn't find the multiplayer procedure well explained in the manual, I am afraid.
Please advise.
