Ok so there i am,i decide to attack the SAM barge just off Tripoli.I launch 5 SEAD equipped planes and 4 Tankers.Another tanker takes off fron my carrier to RV with the Group south of Sicily and refuel.Well thats the plan, except when they are all grouped they wont refuel!!!!So just exactly what are the parameters for refuelling?Obviously the need to be the same altitude and speed. Is there a max speed that they can be flying at to refuel?

Firstly, the aircraft in question need to be capable of in-flight refueling or IFR (this is probably not an issue in your case).

Secondly, there's a bug in the release version that sometimes interferes with IFR. I have found that you can usually get around this bug by splitting your group, giving them orders to RTB, and then rejoining for the refuel operation. (You can adjust their course again during the IFR). This IFR bug has been squashed for the patch. [:)]

Lastly, you'll be prompted to permit the group to travel at Cruise speed for IFR operations.

The planes are all supposed to be at Cruise speed to refuel.  There is a bug in the game that can leave the refueling to the very last moment, see http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=1621794&mpage=1&key=refuel for some perhaps helpful information.  You may be able to force the refueling by separating the refuelees from the group, then join the refuelers back into that new group and then hit alt+r.

Try just moving the entire group to a new group (when you split move everything over to the right side). Save first in case there is a problem with the group though.
