So far I have to admit GOA is versatile for a WW1 game. You can perform several different strategies with all types of tactics and there are a lot of things you can learn that add to the fun of the game as you go along. Many will be put off by certain qualities because it takes a little time to get acquainted with the game. It's a much more historical wargame than most...but doesn't sacrifice the fun factor.
It doesn't have the whistle and bells that many wargames have but it has a good balance, and you can almost smell the gunpowder from the cannonshells, feel the bitter bloody exchange for yards of soil...the starving Revolutionaries at home and the massive seabattles, well the last part could use some alternation. I wouldn't mind to see sea stacks fire potshots at one another
but it's not a necessary thing [8D]
