Disbanding Air Units

If an air unit is disbanded it reappears after 90 days with a full complement of planes that are _NOT_ taken from the pool (only talking about allies) in stock/CHS. I believe the withdraw option is similar regarding planes, although the airgroup keeps its pilots.

Is this 'effect' hardcoded and thus the same in RHS or have you found a way around that?
Maybe there is also a more general solution for the problem of disbanding airgroups without getting the 'free' aircraft? At the moment this is the only way I can think of to keep my better pilots in one group, rather than having them scattered around in many groups.

It is hardcoded and I know no way around it in the standard game or the published mods.  The Admiral's Edition makes some changes in that area, but I suggest you look at the air threads in the Admiral's Edition subfolder for more details.

Having experienced pilots spread out does have the effect of training low experience pilots.  A 90 experience pilot will help a fledgling group get up to combat experience quicker than if they were thrown into the fray alone.

We cannot change hard code.

If the manual is right - you DO want to spread experience around and NOT let it concentrate in a few units.
