According to the log, Prussia captured Napoleon in Mar 1807, and released him in May 1808 or so.

It's May 1809, France has been at continuous war throughout that period, and Napoleon doesn't seem to be on the board, to have participated in any battles since his 'release', nor to have been exiled. Massena also doesn't seem around. Is there a bug in leader release if it's part of multilateral deal? (Prussia was conditionally surrendering to both Austria and France at the time; could they have been released by mistake into the tender care of Austria? ). I've seen leaders been returned to the board immediately after 1:1 peace deals (the AI tends not to keep leaders in reserve, even bad ones, I believe), so perhaps the simultaneity thing is an issue here.

The AI should place him if there is a clear value-add to replacing another inferior leader (Which should be the case for Napoleon)??? How long has he been off the map?
 
 

Maybe Nappy just missed his Josephene.  I read a letter saved from Nappy stateing he prefered Josephene 5 months unwashed.  After that ammount of time, no one would in a hurry.

As far as I can tell, neither Napoleon nor Massena has been put on the board for that entire full year, unless they never fought in battles, never got taken prisoner, never exiled, and got removed by foraging losses (over and over again).  Considering that these were the two prisoners both supposedly released from the same peace, I doubt it's coincidental.  If they've been repatriated to the wrong country, then I suppose their release might have to wait until the next Franco-Austrian war.  :p

Hmm... maybe that AI is playing smarter than we thought?

I'll look at ther AI reinforcement code to see what they should be doing...
