While I am not-so-patiently

waiting for more news about the re-release I've been playing the old version.
A couple of issues keep poping up that I hope will be addressed. They are:
1) The frakken weather. It seems to me that in 1943 the Allies had bases as far west as Midway and a jillion ships in the Atlantic so it shouldn't be too hard to get a forcast of the possible weather over England[:D]. I'm certainly not asking for 100% accuracy or anything but how about a percentage chance that a given a given area will have x type of weather. Sure would save a lot of frustration after spending an hour coming up with the perfect set of raid and then watching most of them scrub do to Bad Weather[:@]
2) I can't tell you how much I hate the restricted bombing feature during Avalanche[:@][:@]. I totally understand the U-Boat and V-Weapon restrictions. But having three airforces unable to fly anything else gets me upset. I'm not sure, but wasn't the 15AF a strategic force? If so, I should be able to hit something other than the tactical targets.
3) Will it be easier to transfer units between commands? I've sent a couple of B-24 groups to Italy from the 8th so I can hit something in the theatre besides the Hermann Goering Pzr Div.
4) I can't wait for the new version to come out.. great work guys! Sorry about the rant, but I forgot how much I enjoy this game, warts and all.[:D]

Weather ?, you should be able to see what the weather is going to be ? it shows up as a % for each zone (6 zones on the map. each with it's own weather, also, click on clouds to see how dense the cloud base is going to be)
Manatory, well, we found a bug that was not recording all the damage that was being done, this should make it easier to break the manatory level
(yes the XVth was a SF, but, it was under control of Eaker as the over all commander of MAAF, when big week started, the English wanted the XVth to bomb Germen troops at Anzio, so for a couple of days, it was not able to help with big week) it will flip back and forth between being stuck and not being stuck
(and there is a work around with Manatory targeting)
as it stands now, Commands are still pretty much locked up for the Allied, but we hope to be able to work something in later on
we working, we working (well, I am ?????)

naw, we working, just got off the phone with David this morning, talking about where we are at, and what they want from us, so we can get the other stuff going that needs to be done (really, the background stuff is what will drive you nutts)

I know you can see what the weather is like now, what I'd like to know is what it is supposed to be when the Bombers reach their targets, i.e. 30% cloud at 20K @4:30am but knowing it would be 80% cloud @1pm would help plan missions better. I'd set an earlier or later take off time so'd there be a chance the target wouldn't be obscured when the strike arrived. Or not send a mission at all. Or send them someplace that would have a chance to see the target. You get the idea. I enjoy the realism of having weather effects, but I'd think there was some sort of ability to guesstimate the liklihood of success.
What's the Avalanche work around?

for weather, you got to watch how the game works, you can start to see and follow how the clouds will move, you pick up the patterns and can tell when the holes will or won't be around
bad weather is bad weather and most times, better to just shut it down (now, if the cloud base is say, 8-9 K, you can still send out low level sweeps and short coastal raids
which pretty much, if the weather is 30% it is not going to jump to 80%, it may get a little better or a little worse, but it is going to be around 30% for the whole zone
some people say, you can let the AI plot some missions, the AI does seem to know when and where the holes in the clouds are going to be, once some raids are plotted, take them over and replot them to what you want
which, weather over the target is what made the airwar so HARD to get anything done, use the 2nd target option, if you want to bomb the main target, no mater what, plot it as the 2ndary target and the group will bomb even though the target is cloud covered (not as good a chance, but..., also, a large City area is a better 2ndary target then small factory) or, use the 2ndary target to push the raid away from where you think the clouds are heading
most times for me, I plot to the target, and use the 2ndary for the nearest area target
cloud bombing improves, based on any Nav systems onboard (but is still not too swift)
without going into too much detail, lets just say, any raid can be replotted, once it is plotted

HardSgt;
I was noticing on some of the new screen shots the Weather display is still in percentages. How about changing "the display" to x100 ft?
When just starting out, if I remember correctly, this seemed confusing.

In my opinion, it isn't the weather during the day that is a problem. It's the complete randomness of the next day's weather. I know forecasting wasn't as accurate as it is now, but they at least knew something about it. (Why do you think effort was put into occupying Greenland? To keep out the Nazi weather watchers.)
I'd like to know whether the weather is clearing or building. Shoot... they knew if there was a high pressure system the Atlantic heading for Europe. I should know the same thing too. Mainly because if today's weather is iffy and tomorrow is suppose to be clear, I'm less likely to run a mission today.

for Mandatory, a number of targets showing up as needing to be damaged, were being damaged, but were not showing up as damaged for this, that has been corrected in our game
those are just left over planes in the data files, and devices that were meant for something else, but never cleaned out

A/F has three different damage counters:
- communication
- airfield service
- runway
only the runway damage stops operations from the airbase.
but be aware that it repairs fast:
over 50% 1per minute
50% or less 1 per two minutes
damage to services will slow down refulling, rearming and repairs
damage to communication will slow the take off time
