.exe failure in Vista

After dealing with crashes and lock downs during installation and listenening to my DVD-RW spinning at frightening speeds I FINALLY get this game installed only to receive the message: "starshatter.exe has stopped operating. Windows will search for a solution."

This maze disguised as 'tech support' is not increasing my satisfaction with Matrix Games.

Also seeing ALL the problems people encounter with this game I'm not sure if its worth the trouble. Maybe I'll get to find out.

I am using an up to date system with Vista, a Pentium 4 3.0G and most of the bells and whistles.

Offer a solution in a timely manner or lose a customer for life. That simple.

Do the system requirements list Vista as a supported platform?  The game may not be fully compatible with Vista, although I haven't had problems yet with TGS.  Start with the basics.  Make sure you're not running any anti-virus programs in the background while you are trying to play the game, especially Norton, AVG, Spyware Doctor, or others known to interfere with games and applications in general, causing reliability and stability problems.  Problems like you describe can often be caused by A/V programs. Next, turn off any other unnecessary background tasks to give your system most of its resources to perform well and reliably.

Hi,

Starshatter was created before the advent of the Vista operating system. [:(]

It is the new operating system, not the game. Although, others have gotten it to run properly.

Please note SFs comments above. [:)]

Good luck. [;)]
