Question about TF "disband"

I can disband a TF in a friendly port 3+. It appears I can disband when the TF is in the port hex and docked or "at sea" in the port hex. Is there any difference or advantage to docking before disbanding? Do both actions have the same result? Am I missing something? TNX

No difference or advantage to docking before disbanding.  Docking keeps the TF together, but allows you to refuel from the port.  The ships are still suceptable to sub attacks, etc.  Disbanding ships in port protects them from sub attacks, and increases the repair ability for that ship.  There are probably a dozen more differences.  [:D]

Just make sure you refuel before you disband (if that is what you want to do).

I have had several times over the last few years when I wanted an immediate sortie (ASW mostly) and found that I had a couple of DDs in dire need of refueling when I made the TF.

That's a good habit. I try to remember to do it. [:)]
