RHS EOS 75 map error

Gentlemen -

I am playing RHS EOS v7.7894 with the Harbin v7.78941 errata applied. River pwhex 7 (renamed pwhex in order to work) has been applied. Map v7.791 Hex Panels, v7.791 Panels non Hex and update v7 Maps Panels have been extacted to the Art folder.

Here's the problem: In game, when viewing eastern Austrailia/Solomons area, the map "stutters" so that there are multiple copies of the same base; the map quickly becomes unreadable. The area affected is from hexes 35 100 to 108 100 and 35 79 to 35 119 (map panels WITN11 and WIT N12.) The map panels above, below and to each side of this area are unaffected. This behaivor began when I had to reinstall the entire game due to an earier problem in December; my AVG virus scan seemed to think that part of the WITP 1804 comprehensive update was a virus. Later multiple scans showed no virus - I believe that AVG was in error. When this map error persisted I deleted the modified art folder and reinstalled the original backup; then applied the necessary RHS EOS maps, aircraft and ship folders. If I recall correctly the map seemed to sroll correctly after the most recent art folder fix - perhaps I am mistaken. It seems clear that only the WITN11 and N12 panels are not functioning correctly. I don't believe that there is a difficulty with choosing either 16 bit or 32 bit colors.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Mac

This is not a pwhex issue. Pwhex cannot affect what you see - except it changes the hex sides if you have hex sides on.

What you are seeing is art. And that in turn is controlled by program code.

This effect - reported long ago and acknowledged by a Matrix programmer - is a rare thing - and requires you stop altogether - and reload WITP from zero. But that will fix it.

I run many tests and see it about 3 times a week (running tests 24 hours a day on many machines). I always can fix it by a restart. It may even be a windows issue.

Thank you for your timely response and assistance. I was almost certain that Pwhex had nothing to do with the art error; scenario information was included to provide viewers with all the setup details.

Just restarted the game - problem fixed.
