I've simple question - which figher is better in A2A missions? Jack or N1K1? My PBEM campagn is already in mid '43 so both types are avaible (Jacks are manufactured for last few months). I've been looking for stats however I can't see many differences. In fact I think older Jack is slightly better. Is it right? I'm playing CHS mod if it's important.

If you can now produce N1K1 and your economy is strong, then convert the Jacks to N1K1s as the N1k1s have greater range. Also the N1k1 upgrades to the N1K2 which is even better. Remember to leave 48 J2M2s in your pool for new squadrons that will come on line.

George is a better point-defense interceptor but Jack is better for escort (longer range)

EDIT: in stock games

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the last patch (1.806) for WITP made it such that new arriving reinforcements for Japanese, if there are not enough planes, will no longer sit in the queue indefinitely until enough planes arrive. Instead they will either flesh out with a downgrade or upgrade OR will take whatever number of the correct plane is available and simply show up understrength. I could be wrong. [&:]

No Gary you are quite correct. The reason to have a full complement is so you do not lose any pilots. This is very important as CHS and Stock are absurdly low on Japanese pilots.
