Hello.
I played COG as France in 1796(1797?) scenario.
After beating Austria i won the game easily.
And yesterday I played Russia in 1805 scenario.
It was too hard to play against enormous France.
As russia, other resources was enough, but money was not.(Russia money income 180-200... France 600-700!!!)
Money income was too short than France provinces.
Time is too limited to develop Russian economy.(money!!!)
And I think Russia can't earn much money as France later.
And Russia can't brake down France's assault force in 1805.
How can I earn more money as Russia, and win againt Frace?

You can get a lot of money by offering treaties such as enforced alliances, respect neutrality for two years or more with other powers in return for a package that includes payments or reparations. The latter is particularly helpful as it ensures a regular income, even better if its a rich country like Britain. Also trade extensively using Russia's excess raw materials in wood, iron and wine.

Hi, Also disband unneeded units. (you have tons of surplus cossack and miltia) However scenarios that begin after Napoleon is commanding France are about fighting battles not economy. I enjoy playing Russia in the early scenarios because by 1805 I have a strong treasury and my military is built the way I like it.
Trade is however always going to be a major source of revenue for Russia.
