Let me take a guess... Vista operating system?
 
Starshatter is a pre Vista created game. It's not the game... it's Vista.

yep vista but tryed in winxp pro and xp home still crashing still not playing and the system i brefely explaind in my post was win xp pro with duel nvida 7800x pro vido cards

There was no mention of you operating system in your first post above.

I run Starshatter:TGS version 5.0.1 on Widnows XP Home Edition with absolutely no problems.

Are you running version 5.0.2? If so, that could be the problem. That patch added TrackIR support. I had trouble with it, and since, although I own TrackIR, I din't really need it and reverted back to the prior version and the problems ceased.

There is a Starshatter profile file that needs to be upated in the TrackIR software to properly unitlize it in the game. Did you obtain this file for TrackIR?

If so and are still having these problems, try reverting back to version 5.0.1 of the game.

Also, make sure you have all of the latest drivers for your video card.

Is there a way around the CTD's caused by the 5.02a patch?

No I didn't obtain the Starshatter profile. I'm more of a modder than a player.

Apparently one needs to run the TrackIR software and update it with the Starshatter game profile from within TrackIR. Then things are reportedly improved.

Based upon my brief search, there is a patch for the game and TrackIR software. Apparently their new TrackIR 4 software wasn't downward compatable with earlier versions. Good luck.

How can you say you don't need TrackIR when you own TrackIR? TrackIR makes this game much better IMO. What kind of issues does the 5.0.2 patch cause?
