Have been having fun with HTTR.....what a great simulation!....very elegant design...does very well in immersing you in the sort of opeartional decisions required to do well...SO Kudos to the game designers...well done..

Must admit though ...having played the campaigns (especially Nijmegan) from both sides and with giving the opposing AI...advantages with supply and reinforcents...I have found the AI to be a bit weak.

It seems to work better on defense...but even then it doesnt seem to really put me under any pressure at all..

Still this is a superb game system...and would love to try it online with someone...anybody still playing online?....have just registered with opponents wanted

Have you tried the "Favour Axis/Allies" options?

Hi..yes...I have tried giving the AI advantages...by choosing the Favour option for it. I also play with the orders delay set to realistic.

When I say I have found the AI 'weak'..i should qualify it by saying that its one of the better AI opponents Ive played against in a strategy game. I just found that after winning some Decisive victories and analysing the battle in the final review, that the AI seemed to not capitalise on its attack or counter-attack opportunities. In one game i played it seemed as if the AI left some of his reinforcement units langishing at his entry point without even utilising them...thus a major counterattack I expected to pressure me did not occur and I won relatively easily.

In games Ive played it seems much better at setting up defensive...rather than offensive maneuvres...have you found differently?

Still I'm sure this game would be great against a human ...hope i can find an opponent.

Brip,

Thanks for the feedback. The AI has been significantly enhanced in COTA and again in the forthcoming COTA Patch 3. So I do recommend you try COTA and I would be interested in your comparison.
