Setting Pitching Rotation

I'm trying to swap a pitcher in the starting lineup with a starting pitcher on the bench.
A pop up error message keeps telling me `Please place this pitcher in an empty rotation slot'.
Also, how do you `empty' a slot in the lineup while you're adjusting your lineups/pitching rotation?
Thanks

The only way I've found to do that is send the player to the minors and then call him back up. That would be a nice enhancement to be able to blank out a spot.

From the team's Association Menu, select Manage My Roster. From the options across the top, select Rotation Size choose 4-man or 5-man rotation.
Next, the currently designated starters are identified separately from the rest of the relievers. You move pitchers around by clicking on pairs of names and having them swap places. Click on one pitcher, his name is highlighted. Then click on another pitcher and he swaps places with the first pitcher highlighted.
Example: I want to move my #4 starter to the bullpen and let my #3 reliever enter the rotation. So I click and highlight the #4 starter, then click on the #3 reliever. They swap places and now the reliever has become my #4 starter, while the old #4 starter is now my #3 reliever. Next, I want my new #3 reliever to become my #1 reliever. So I click and highlight his name, then click on the currently #1 reliever. They swap places.
So the slots aren't really "emptied". It's more like they are "shuffled".
Hope this helps.
