A few crashes and an old issue...

I was playing the Air assault on Crete scenario. The first turn, my Fallshirmjagers, (hope thats spelled somewhere close to correct), are coming down. One comes down behind the reinforcement dialog, so I click and slide the dialog over to watch the unit and suddenly an error dialog comes up saying ef.exe has encountered a problem and is going to have to close. As soon as I click ok, WF closes. Thats when the old "issue" comes up, the desktop has taken on the color of the WF desktop, kinda olive whatever. I re-started the scenario again twice and got crashes both times for no apparent reason. I then played a scenario in RS, the first bootcamp scenario, and as soon as I make initial contact and am fired upon by the IJA unit, I get the error message again and the game crashes to desktop. Again the desktop is colored RS colors. Any ideas why this is happening?

One other little question, does re-booting after install do any good like it used to with older games?

My system...
Biostar TA-690G AM2 with Athlon 64X2 5400+ AM2
2gb Corsair TwinX PC-6400 running at 800mhz DDR
Nvidia 8600GT w/512mb DDR3

Creative Audigy ZS2
Seagate 250GB SATA 3G

Don't know about the crashes but for the colour change issue...

Right click on your monitor background, left click properties, on the themes tab pick something different like XP classic, apply and close. That should refresh your monitor. You may then repeat the process and change back to your prefered theme.

Only thing I can think of in regards to your crashes is make sure that you installed the 1.02B TEMPORARY PATCH step by step.

It takes a little time to get it right and, as a temporary patch, has its quirks if it isn't installed correctly.

The 1.03 UPDATE will be cumulative, so will be the only UPDATE you will have to patch to when it is released.
