Question about the "Read" command

When you give a defensive linebacker or DB the "read" command, and it's a run, the person will play the run. If it's a pass, they drop into zone coverage. Do you have to draw the zone they drop into, or is it a predetermined zone? Or do they just read the QB until he throws the ball?

The defender will drop back a bit deeper, but he's still watching the QB until the ball is passed. He's not playing zone.

thanks
David

So "Read" would be the ideal command for a Jack Linebacker in Indoor Football?

I'd say yes.

If the Maximum Football league required a Jack back with a Read command, it would be easy to make sure all defensive plays are legal.

That is what I have done with updated indoor playbooks.
