Piedmont OOB

In the latest patch, Piedmont seems only to have one corps; it used to be two. Is that an intentional change?

Well you did :)

Used to be 2 corps, like in the board-game.
But only 1 now.

I can see two Piedmont corps BUT it looks like only one should be in the game. That should be the case with version 1.00 as well???

Anybody got a v1.00 game with 2 Piedmont corps?

Here's a game started in 1.0. In this case, only Piedmont 1 is on the map, but you can see Piedmont 2 available for purchase.

I can recall from v1.00 games with 100% certainty that Piedmont had two corps, shown as Piedmont I and Piedmont II corps, just as in the board game. I hope you didn't decrease this to one on purpose.

Cheers,

Ted

I'd like to see the OoB from the original game implemented!

Update: in some games, Piedmont does still have two corps, so maybe it's not something that changed with the patch.

The pattern seems to be that if Piedmont is freed by France, or goes neutral and is then acquired, it has only one corps. But if it's wrested from France without ever going neutral, it has two.

I see that in the initial forces list for minor countries, Piedmont starts out (if it's neutral and attacked by a major) with 2i and 1 corps. Those initial forces lists aren't maximum possible forces, but apart from Piedmont the number of corps available does seem to be the maximum. I suspect the program is drawing from two contradictory data sets depending on the situation--one for initial forces and one for freeing it as a transferred conq?

I freed Piedmont as France in Jan '05 and I got 2 corps. (v.1.00)

OK, so then that is definitely a change in the patch. If you start a new game as France in 1.01b, and open the Piedmont information box, you can see that it has only one corps available. (But if you conquer it from France, as Austria for instance, it will have two. BUT if it goes neutral and you conquer it, it will have one. I don't know what happens if Austria takes it from France and France takes it back from Austria--I bet it would have two, but I haven't tried that.)

As France, in my old v.1.00 version my Piedmont freestate did have 2 corps. Just like in the boardgame..
So sounds like some bug.

Hmm, it's even weirder than I thought. If you start a game as France, and click on the Piedmont information box--which should show you what would be available if you made it a free state--you see only one corps. BUT if you actually free it, you get two corps.

Moreover, I just tried an experiment in which I drove France into instability at the beginning (by multiple DOWs), and Piedmont went neutral. Then I reconq'd Piedmont, freed it, and had two corps.

I don't seem to have a savefile from a game in which a freed Piedmont actually had only one corps, though I believe I have seen that, in a case where I got hold of a Piedmont that had gone neutral. I suppose it's possible that all I'm remembering is seeing only one corps previewed as available, in which case the only bug is the discrepancy between the preview and what you actually get. I'll try another experiment and see what happens.

Found the Piedmont corps problem. It is showing up in the Db as a second Tripolitania corps.

Thanks
