I am trying to load the game start file as Russia. Once I get past the email, and try to load the file, it gives me an error, saying that the DEF file cannot be read. anyone have an idea as to what is happening?
thanks!

The DEF file error should only popup at the first execution of the game???
Can you tell me exactly what the error says?

Try starting the game by dbl-clicking directly on the EiANW.EXE file in the game root directory.
Let me know...

no luck. It's very strange as I can still run turns from my other EiA game, I just cannot load the start file for this one.

Are you selecting the "Join PBEM" game?

OK, here we go again. Trying to start in a new game, same problem, and only with my system apparently. I was emailed an unzipped version of the game start. I saved that. open Eia, select new game, them email game. It askes for me to type in my email. then brings up a window to select the game file. when I select it, it tells me that the file cannot be opened, then anotehr errow windo about this DEF file. funy this is that is someone sends a backup file, I can open that without any issues. I am using the 1.01B patch
I would very much like to speak with someone at Matrix about this. My email is
borneruv@yahoo.com Is there a number you all have for tech support?
thank you
Brian

You need to LOAD a gamestart file, not start a NEW GAME.
